The Raine Family Legacy--Gen 1, Chapter 6: Nine and Ten

Ember is so happy to have this perfect little baby in her life.

She held him close and nothing else mattered.  Daydreams of mother and son, hunting humans for food under the glorious full moon, danced through her head.  It was blissful.  But as she held him, she realized he was surprisingly warm, too warm.  But she brushed it off and prepared him a bottle full of blood.

But he wouldn't touch it.  He sputtered and choked and spat it out.  Then he screamed and cried until Ember broke down and gave him formula instead.  Apparently, there was too much human in his blood. He appeared to be free of the curse.  Ember was dispirited but not hopeless.  She decided that maybe he would grow into his bloodlust late in life.  A girl can dream, can't she?  On the other hand, Miraj was thrilled about the new baby.  He held Ash as often as he could, and loved his nephew as if he were his own son.

A baby this cute could steal anyone's heart.

Miraj embodied the perfect caretaker.  He cooked, cleaned, changed diapers, you name it.  And he loved every minute of it.

So much so, that he called and quit his job.  He didn't want to be away from Ash and Ember for even a moment.

Meanwhile, Ember had a job to do.  She needed 2 more boyfriends to complete her lifetime wish.  Here's Noah Fischer, whom Ember met at the park.

At this point, those who could resist Ember's charm and sensuality were few and far between.  She had this down to a science.

Then she broke his heart.

But something wasn't right again.  She didn't feel anything this time.  She didn't feel angry like she had with VJ, nor joy and pleasure like she had with the others.  She decided to try to apologize to Noah, but that didn't feel right either.  Because she wasn't sorry.  Maybe it's the hormones?

But then the Hunger crept over her, so it didn't matter either way.

The next day, something unexpected happened.  For the first time in her life, someone asked Ember to be his girlfriend.  She did not love him.  I'm not even sure if she's capable of such a thing.  But Miraj was a good guy.  He was an excellent father for Ash, especially since Ash seemed to be more human than anything else.  He also did a good job keeping Ember physically satisfied.  And it was easy to be with him, comfortable even.  Maybe comfortable is what Ember needs as she is rapidly approaching old age.

So she said yes.  That brought her total to ten.  Ten was a good even number.  She decided this would probably be her last, after all, it just wasn't that fun anymore.

Then, in the spur of the moment, Ember decided to do the unthinkable.  She told Miraj what she was.  She told him she was a vampire.  Miraj just laughed.

Miraj:  "I knew all along, but I've always wondered how you were able to go out in the sun."

She explained that such things were overcome during the Vampires' evolution.

Ember:  "The sun does hurt my eyes a little, but if I wear shades I'm fine."

Then she asked him if he'd like to become like her.

He said yes, he wanted nothing more.  She performed the Embrace right away, (the details of which will NOT be disclosed here).

Here he is afterwards.  Ember also bought him a tattoo as a "re-birthday" present.

Then they did a little celebrating.

And before they knew it, Ash's birthday snuck up on them.  So quickly that they forgot to throw him a party.

This is what he looks like now.  He's perfect in every way imaginable.  He has Ember's gorgeous grey skin, yellow eyes, pointy ears, and his father's very cool hair.  His traits are Loves the Outdoors and Good, by the way.

He was a very fast learner.

His first word was boo-boo.

He loves his xylophone.

And he is just too adorable for words!  (by far my favorite sim toddler yet!)

But, Ember still hadn't gone back to work, and Miraj had recently quit his job, so they were broke.  Miraj took up painting in an attempt to earn some extra cash.  His first two paintings sold for a whopping grand total of $8...

Then, Ember realized that she was once again, preggers.

Ember had really high hopes for this one.  His blood would be 75% Vampire and 25% Elf.  Maybe this child would be her true heir, and live up to her good name.

Now, Miraj had been happy about the first pregnancy, thrilled even, but this was his own child in there this time. He was positively euphoric.

Miraj:  "There will be no milk for you."

Miraj:  "Nope, nope, you're gunna be my little blood-sucker."

(Is it my imagination, or is her belly unusually big?
I'd also like to point out, that this is the first time I have been at the same place in the story and the game.  I know as much about this next baby as you do!  I find that really exciting, lol.)

  2. From Seaweedy,
I am so impressed with the screenshot of her after the guy with her arms up in the scare position while she has the hunger bubble over her head. I know that couldn't have been easy to capture but it is very evocative.
